Hi, I am Al. I use he/they pronouns, and my back hurts!
I am a queer artist based in Oxfordshire with my partner Eleanor and our two cats (called Anarchy and Noddy)
During the day, I work in Mental health, and I am passionate about helping others!
Why top surgery?
As a transmasculine person, having large breasts is highly dysphoric to me, making my life extremely difficult. The last time I measured, I am a 36H which means I struggle even to bind or wear a bra as it's so painful! I often wear baggy clothes or dungarees to cover my chest.
I have wanted a mastectomy for years now, but with the NHS waiting list being 10+ years, I have decided that private is my only option.
I plan on having my surgery at the London Transgender Clinic with DR Inglefield.
Why am I hoping for £10k?
Sadly, this is a low estimate of how much it will cost me to have this surgery due to my large chest. The cost would go towards:
- The surgery (which will include a lot of steps due to my size)
- Nipple grafts
- Recovery in the hospital
- Recovery for the week after when I am unable to work
- Admin from the clinic itself (i.e., diagnosis etc.)
What's in it for me?
I will appreciate it MASSIVELY! I am also going to make a large quilt with every name that has donated (even if you are anonymous, I will keep it so)
