As many of you know, Jada was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a rare type of blood cancer that affects the body’s lymphatic and immune systems before spreading throughout the body. It took one walk into her family doctor’s office after months of disregarded chest pain for this nightmare to be confirmed. She has earnestly tended to her 2 sons, wrote and recorded music and somehow maintained her light-hearted disposition despite what she’s facing.
Jada’s fight has only just begun. After the surgical biopsy, it was confirmed the tumor is 5 inches in size and cannot be completely removed as it is too close to her heart. She will begin a rigorous chemotherapy regimen this month which is expected to continue for the next ~6 months and may be followed by radiation therapy. The journey ahead will be challenging for Jada as she navigates the physical, mental and financial impacts of battling cancer while also being a mother. We are quickly learning that many medical expenses are not covered by insurance and at some point in the near future, going to work will not be physically possible. Outside of medical expenses, Jada will also need to bear the heavy weight of costs for things like therapy, feeding her family and other things we take for granted.
Jada never asked for a GoFundMe. In fact, she didn't ask for a thing. If you know her, you know she is very much the type to deal with hardships on her own and in private. Despite every trial and tribulation, Jada perseveres. She doesn’t complain, she doesn’t ask for help or push her struggles onto the next person. However, this is something no one should ever go through alone. It is evident Jada has an army of family, friends and others touched by her story who want to support the wellbeing of her and her two boys. She’s more than ready to fight, but she needs our help. Every donation, every thought and every prayer will help ease the burden of this journey on Jada and her little family.
