I am asking for as many prayers and positive thoughts as I can gather.
My best friend of 30yrs, who I call my brother, and you all know as everyone’s favorite Uncle….is in need of everyone’s thoughts and prayers right now.
He was driving to Florida Thursday to meet up with us and Allison for a vacation when he had an apparent stroke, got disoriented, and ended up in the middle of Missouri. We were able to track him down and get 911 called. He is in the hospital getting continued care as they try to stabilize him. It seems he has been having ‘mini’ strokes for the past few weeks. We flew Allison to MO right away. We were there and are back in FL for now. Allison is with him and his sister is on her way as well. She is a physician in MN so it will be very helpful for Allison to have someone help navigate all of the bombarding medical language.
Right now they are trying to find the source of the strokes so they can stop them, lots of tests. He is cognitive but in/out; when ‘in’, he is in good spirits, joking, and asking for a hot dog (that’s our Ge)!. He does not have his phone so please do NOT reach out to him. Allison is very overwhelmed right now so please don’t bombard her either.
For now, please send all of the positive thoughts, vibes, and prayers to Ge. He has done SOOOOO much for SOOOOO many and he needs us all now!!! If you have the means it would make a world of difference. This situation unfortunately couldn’t have happened at a worse time as Ge is in-between jobs right now. He JUST left his full time job 2 weeks ago managing dental offices as he accepted a new job doing FT photography for sports which was set to start in a month. He has NO medical insurance with his new job, and forgot sign up for COBRA as he wasn’t in the right mind… Allison will likely end up on a FLMA leave as Ge navigates recovery and a lot of therapy. Ge has spent YEARS, decades, doing everything for everyone. He had done more FREE or significantly discounted photos for hundreds and hundreds of people. If anyone can share anything to help out, it will be greatly appreciated. The medical bills will be astronomical and while we are applying for any and all aid right now, we don’t know how long that will take. Because he is ‘un-insured’ his ongoing treatments and therapy will be more difficult to establish as well. You all know that I don’t ask for a lot but I will beg for my brother. This man means the sun, moon, and stars to me and my family. I want to do anything I can to help lift any amount of burden from him and Allison right now. Thank you all.
