Not today cancer!! You’ve got this Melissa!!

Melissa, “you are going through quite the storm right now, but we will hold your umbrella.”  A little over a month ago, Melissa noticed a few swollen lymph nodes in her neck. After going to the doctor, being referred to a couple of specialists and going through lots different testing, she was diagnosed with diffuse large b-cell lymphoma, a cancer of the blood. After coming to terms with this, she was devastated by receiving additional news from her doctor that she has also been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, which is another cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Thankfully, Melissa’s panel of doctors have put a cancer plan in place and she received her first round of chemotherapy yesterday. Melissa is a fighter and I have no doubt that when she says “I will punch cancer in the face everyday until it’s defeated, because I’m not going to let it defeat me!!”, she will do nothing but that. Melissa has a heart of gold and is always there for anyone who needs her. She is a single mom and the sole provider for herself and her children. Although she does have insurance through her employer, she will have to pay a hefty amount out of pocket before insurance will start covering costs. Unfortunately this will start all over again in July when her insurance is renewed for the year. I have created this go fund me on her behalf in hopes that it will help ease some of the financial hardship that her recent diagnosis has caused.
