Not Simply Strong: Melinda Strong

On May 31st, just days after her 38th birthday, Melinda received a devastating diagnosis: Triple-Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that spreads quickly and requires immediate and intensive treatment. After finding a small lump, Melinda was fast-tracked through all the local hospitals for the first available biopsies, ultrasounds, MRIs, scans and genetic/surgical consults. Within two weeks she would go from a simple primary visit to her first round of chemotherapy.

During this time, Melinda's determination and resilience remain unshaken. She is ready to fight with every ounce of her strength. If you know her, then you know she is as stubborn as she is strong.

While Melinda was ready to jump right in, the quick turnaround left very little time to process or plan. It's hard for her to ask for help, but Melinda did create a Give InKind page to share updates and coordinate assistance with meals, errands, and social visits. She hopes that with help from others she can continue a sense of normalcy day-to-day for her three boys and provide support to her husband Tom:
