Not Forgotten's 2024 Giving Tuesday Campaign

First, we want to say a deep and sincere THANK YOU to all of you who've made a donation, who've given offline and who've joined us in praying for this mission. We are so grateful for you!

We have an update for you:

We were able to host our annual Christmas Outreach at the end of December 2024. The turnout was even higher than last year: about 400 children and women were served.

One thing that really stood out to the team on the ground was the number of women who came out. It's the highest they've seen since we began doing the Christmas Outreach.

We're grateful we were able to cover the cost of the outreach but we're still in need of help. Esther's surgery is our focus now, as well as additional funds for food and clothing. Here's a look at our revised budget:

We've raised about 20% of the money needed and are believing God for the rest. We'll continue raising money until we reach out goal!

Hello my name is Nadia and I'm one of the co-founders of Not Forgotten Global Missions Association. Since 2017, my co-founder Jemimah Kabagenyi and I have been supporting street children living in the northern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in an area called Ituri Province.

The fighting is the result of ethnic clashes between the Lendu and Hema. Now referred to as the Ituri Conflict, it has been the source of intense fighting since the early 2000’s. Earlier this year, in July, the head of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo expressed concern over the expansion of a military group in the region which could lead to instability in the situation in Ituri. According to the Norwegian Refugee Council, at the end of last year, more than 1.6 million people had been displaced.

The heart of this organization is to spread the love of God in areas where people might be feeling forgotten: they need to know God sees them and they’re not alone.

Every Christmas, we send as much as we can to provide meals to the children living in the streets. In addition to a warm meal, children also hear the message of the Gospel, feeding their souls with a message of love and hope.

This year, our team in Ituri Province is preparing for another year of holiday meals.

In addition, for the two dozen children and women in our care, we'll be giving them gifts and school supplies, as we do every Christmas.

Also, as part of our Giving Tuesday campaign this year, we're raising money for a little girl named Esther.

A victim of violence in the region, Esther's left hand was violently injured after her family was killed. She was traumatized from the attack, suffering a bullet wound to her left hand. The injury is painful and has left her feeling embarrassed at times when she's around other children. Esther has been in our care since November 2021, when she was just a little girl.

Esther needs surgery. A portion of the money raised during this Giving Tuesday campaign will go towards a life-changing surgery for this young girl, restoring her hand's functionality.

Since 2021, more than 80 per cent of the money we raise as a nonprofit is spent on feeding, housing and educating the children in our care. And over the years, we've the children's lives transformed from fearful to hopeful, as they excel in school.
