There are people—children, families, individuals—sitting in psychiatric and mental health facilities right now who feel unheard, unseen, and misunderstood.

They’ve been labeled.

They’ve been overdiagnosed.

They’ve been prescribed medication after medication, not because it truly heals them, but because it keeps them manageable.

For many, the experience is numbing.

Not just emotionally—but physically, mentally, spiritually.

Imagine knowing something is wrong inside, but instead of being guided to understand it, you’re taught to suppress it.

Imagine being a child with big emotions and trauma, and instead of being supported, you’re given a diagnosis that follows you for life.

Imagine being an adult who wants to heal, but is instead placed in a system that treats symptoms, not the root.

This is the current reality for far too many people.

And this is why I’m stepping in.

I am raising $600 in the month of May to fund my licensing journey. These funds will directly cover:

Licensing fee

This license is more than a credential—it is access.

Access to systems that I intend to transform from the inside out.

My mission is clear:

To work in mental health and rehabilitation facilities and provide an alternative approach—one that prioritizes root healing over symptom management.

Through creative arts therapy, I will help individuals reconnect to themselves, process trauma safely, and use their lived experiences as tools for growth—not labels for limitation.

This work is deeply personal to me.

I have been passionate about psychology and mental health since high school. Over time, I’ve seen how easily people are reduced to diagnoses, and how quickly treatment can become about control rather than care.

When people are over-pathologized, they don’t just lose autonomy—they risk becoming dependent on systems that were never designed to fully heal them.

But change is possible.

And it starts with people who are willing to understand the system deeply enough to challenge it effectively.

Through my education, clinical experience, and future research, I will contribute to policy and systemic change—helping shift mental health care toward approaches that are:

Trauma-informed

Holistic

Creative

Empowering

This is not just about one license.

This is about being part of a larger movement—one that redefines what healing looks like.

A movement where people are not silenced by diagnoses, but supported in discovering their voice.
