My family and I come to you with open hearts and a deep sense of urgency to support my father — a man who has given everything to his family and everyone he has encountered.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at around 7:00 AM, my father was kidnapped by ICE on the streets of Santa Ana, near Edinger and Lyon. He was kidnapped while having breakfast, just moments before starting his workday. The disturbing videos circulating on social media showing ICE arrests — that’s exactly what my father experienced that morning.

For over 30 years, my father, Elpidio Avelar, has lived in the United States — humbly and tirelessly. As an undocumented father, he has worked long, grueling hours in a job that is often unnoticed and underappreciated. Whether under the hot sun or in harsh weather conditions, he has never once complained.

He has never known the luxury of rest or security. Despite the uncertainty that comes with being undocumented, he has always done what’s right: showing up for work every day, paying his taxes, and raising me with strong values. He has no criminal record, no history of trouble — just a lifetime of sacrifice, responsibility, and quiet dignity.

We are raising funds to help secure my father’s future — starting with legal representation to advocate for his release from the immigration detention center. Every dollar makes a difference.
