Norwich Artillery Battery Howitizer Refurbish

https://www.facebook.com/norwichartillery/

The Norwich Artillery Battery and it's previous iteration's Artillery Company and the Norwich Independent Battery is a Speciality Unit at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. As the oldest Senior Military College in the nation, the unit maintains 3 M1A1 75 MM Pack Howitzers. The three guns are veterans of World War II, Vietnam, and Korea participating in notable campaigns such as Market Garden and the Pacific Theater against axis tyranny. The guns have seen combat with the United States Army and United States Marine Corps. The guns maintained are over 75 years old and as such require intense maintenance to keep them operable for training and ceremonial purposes to support Norwich University events and military training for young men and women receiving a college education. The Norwich Artillery Battery supports the university by conducting ceremonial fire missions and training events for members of the Corps Of Cadets. Events include the firing of blank rounds for Corps Of Cadets/University graduation/commissioning ceremonies, Dog River Run, Wake Up For the Corps Of Cadets Recruits during "Rook Week", football game kickoffs and training designed to further the military expertise of the group's members. The Norwich Artillery Battery also supports the community of Northfield, Vermont by conduction veterans' remembrance ceremony fire missions. Additionally, the unit conducts other training to support the Corps Of Cadets such as basic infantry tactics and advanced Field Artillery tactics which require funds to support operations. The Norwich Artillery Battery has been recognized as an elite group of men and women by multiple notable figures including top military/university officials. The guns are in a deteriorating condition and money is hard to come by to refurbish and maintain. The guns are operable and safe, however, there are cosmetic issues such as rust that could lead to mechanical issues in the future. The Norwich Artillery Battery respectfully requests your support in raising funds to support the University, the Battery, and young men and women who have dedicated their lives to a higher calling by serving their nation.
