Fund live stream concerts in HD at NWC

Thanks to you all, I've got wireless uplink equipment on the way!   Can we raise a bit more so we can add features and even stream the concerts in HD?

I'll do a hardware test on Tuesday with my friends from Zombie Orpheus Entertainment, since I expect the gear to arrive by that morning.

For new folks, here's the basic skinny:  I'm volunteering my time and gear for a live video stream for the music track at NorWesCon (a Seattle-area fan convention), and I'm raising funds to pay for gear and uplink services that are beyond my own personal means.

Every penny that comes out of this crowdfunding campaign will go toward making the live stream better.

Here are some new stretch goals:

at $700:  I'll bring some gear that lets one of the cameras send video to the switcher wirelessly -- I'll try to find a friend who can be a mobile camera operator so we can get more interesting shots.

at $800: I'll offer re-broadcasts of the concerts.  Friday shows will get replayed on Saturday.  Friday and Saturday will get replayed on Sunday.  This is, of course, subject to approval from the musicians.

at $900: I'll implement something like what I did for Mary Crowell's Peppermint Ladies for each band. (ie. offering downloads of the concerts or perhaps just a selection of the best songs in exchange for contributions to benefit the artists.) This would be opt-in, of course, just like the repository.

If we can raise $1,000, I can rent a couple of better cameras and more gear to improve our setup.

I'm investigating our locally available options for a stronger internet uplink -- We may be able to stream the concerts in HD!

(Check below for the original list of slightly more ambitious stretch goals.)

Of course, to raise funds for the new gear, software, and bandwidth, I'm offering a few basic reward levels.

Remember you can donate any amount or even just subscribe to the youtube channel.

However you help, you can create a free account at our site ( where you'll be able to watch the stream. The stream is contained within a membership site so I won't have to hit mute for every cover song.

For $25, I'll give you access to the download repository I'll create after the event, where you'll be able to download HD versions of the streamed concerts. (Subject to approval from the musicians being featured. I will only add a concert to the repository with written approval from all musicians performing in that concert.)

For $50, I'll include you or your favorite artist or musician in a video slide show to be streamed between concerts. It can be your name and photograph, or an advertisement for your booth in the vendors' hall, or a promotion for your event or band or website. All images and text are subject to approval, of course.

For $100, you can sponsor an interview with a performer or anyone else at the convention, which I can record either before or during the event. I'll stream it at least once during the event (we can coordinate on the timing) and, if the subject agrees, we can do the interview itself live. While I can ask the interviewee(s) on your behalf to agree to the interview, it is ultimately up to you to convince them.

Thank you very much for your contribution. Even if you can't give money, please help us out by spreading the word. If you're a musician who will be performing at the event, tell your fans to sign up or sponsor an interview. If you know someone who loves NorWesCon but can't attend this year, tell them about the project. Subscribe to the FanSupported channel so we can use our youtube account for the event:

If we can raise $500, all of the bandwidth costs will be covered.

If we can raise $1,000, I can rent a couple of better cameras and more gear to improve our setup. I may also rent a better uplink kit so we can stream the event in HD. I'm investigating our locally available options.

If we can raise $2,000, I'll buy better uplink equipment and we can stream this event (and all future events) in HD, even outdoor events like FaerieWorlds.

### Important ###

I am running this GoFundMe of my own volition, and not on behalf of NorWesCon. This is just for the financial costs that I cannot afford to cover on my own in order to fulfill the promises I've made to musicians performing at the event.
