Northside Theater Needs a STAGE!

I believe that I have THE BEST job at my school, in my district, and in the WORLD! I have the awesome privilege of teaching 6th Grade Public Speaking and High School Theater to curious, engaging, and lively students. There are two things that I believe all teachers must subscribe to in order to be most effective for their students: love what you teach and love your students. I am so glad that I am able to say I wholeheartedly love them both!
This is my 4th year at Yes Prep Northside, and my students and I have worked shoulder to shoulder to build a true theater department from the ground up. They are passionate, persistent, and constantly craving more experience and exposure in the arts. We are humbly asking for donations to help fund our very own stage to hold all of our performing arts productions on as well as be an asset to the whole school (i.e. assemblies, meetings, etc.) The stage we are looking at is 16'Wx8'D. It is fully adjustable and can configure into all different forms. The package* includes a stage skirt, a set of stairs, and a rolling storage cart. This is an ideal set up as my Theater class and performances are held in the school cafeteria.
For those that don't know, Yes Prep is a network of public charter schools that serves students from low-income and under served parts of Houston, TX. I am fortunate to work at the Yes Prep Northside campus where I have the support to explore self-advocacy, confidence, and creative expression alongside my students.
