NorthShore University HealthSystem Lawsuit

UPDATE!

Health Care Employees Sue NorthShore University HealthSystem

Liberty Counsel has filed a class action lawsuit along with a motion for a temporary restraining order and injunction in the federal Northern District Court of Illinois against NorthShore University HealthSystem on behalf of 14 health care workers and numerous others who have been unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate.

URGENT! Help us raise $100,000 before October 18!

NorthShore University HealthSystem is illegally denying religious exemptions to its healthcare heroes, and forcing them to choose between their livelihoods and their conscience. A class action lawsuit is being prepared to protect these heroes and their families.

NorthShore is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving patients throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. NorthShore encompasses five hospitals—Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, Skokie, and Swedish—as well as NorthShore Medical Group with more than 70 offices and more than 800 primary and specialty care physicians, the Research Institute and Foundation. In total, the health system employs more than 10,000 people. In addition, NorthShore has a teaching affiliation with the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

NorthShore's entire exemption process is a sham, designed from the beginning to lead to one result for all: DENIAL. NorthShore did not provide its employees with any "criteria" for exemptions, but after employees submitted their exemption requests NorthShore proceeded to deny all of them based on a purported failure to meet NorthShore's undisclosed and phantom "evidence-based criteria." NorthShore ignored the evidence that its employees provided about their religious beliefs and about the indisputable connection between the mandated shots and abortion. And, when it realized that its "evidence-based criteria" sham would not hold legal water, NorthShore abruptly changed its exemption form. It copied and plagiarized the exemption form previously used by Advocate Health, which tells employees not to even bother with abortion-related arguments because NorthShore knows better. (Advocate Health eventually abandoned its illegal stance, and granted numerous exemptions, but NorthShore refuses to do the same).

Liberty Counsel has sent a demand letter to NorthShore HealthSystem, exposing its bad faith in dealing with employees with religious objections to abortion-derived vaccines. The Christian ministry is preparing to file a class action lawsuit against NorthShore if it continues to unlawfully deny exemptions and reasonable accommodations. Litigation is expensive; therefore, we seek your help in raising at least $100,000 in order to fund the legal effort against NorthShore. This effort is being led by Logos Baptist Ministries and the funds would be needed by October 18. All proceeds will be given to Liberty Counsel, a non-profit legal ministry that does not charge fees for its services. We pray that once the Lord grants victory, the final outcome will benefit all the health care workers who risk their lives every day during this pandemic, and who also want to truthfully honor God with a clear conscience.
