Northern Rivers Flood Crisis

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been impacted by the severe weather and flooding crisis.

At Mulcahy Ryan Lawyers, the Northern Rivers community is close to our heart. It is a place where treasured loved ones reside and many fond memories created and shared.

We are particularly saddened by the devastation of the flood crisis, which has so severely impacted the Northern Rivers community. The widespread impact has left the region with minimal services and supplies at a time when so many have lost everything. Undoubtedly, the recovery effort will be lengthy and will require resilience and determination, two qualities that people in the region do not lack.

As the muddy waters recede, the impact of the damage, scale of destruction and magnitude of recovery is being sadly realised.

Lismore has been decimated. The level of displacement is confronting. Thankfully the Government and charitable organisations have enacted emergency assistance to safely evacuate residents and aid in the long-term recovery.

In the short term, people will urgently require basic personal essentials and supplies. In particular, women and young girls need personal hygiene and sanitary supplies. Many of the elderly, women and men alike, require continence products.

We would like to bring some hope and support to the Northern Rivers community by playing a small part in the recovery mission. All funds donated will be spent on purchasing supplies and necessities to be delivered personally to those in need in the Northern Rivers on Friday the 11th of March 2022.

We understand the Australian Government and emergency services will provide basic necessities such as food, water and shelter to those who have lost their homes. However, our focus is to urgently provide hygiene necessities and small personal items to those in need.

The initiative is poignant given that International Women's Day is only days away, which reinforces our focus on supporting women. It is a wonderful opportunity to support women in need.

Our mission is to bring some hope, dignity and comfort to those who have lost everything.

We continue to pray for those who have suffered unimaginable loss and devastation.
