Tetraski- a Ski for disabled skiers
Donation protected
Hi
I'm raising money to help Northeast Disabled Athletic Association (NDAA) and Green Mountain Adaptive Sports (GMAS) purchase a Tetraski to be used at Stowe Mountain Resort, Stowe, VT. The Tetraski allows disabled skiers to access the mountain and ski independently. For individuals who have lost mobility, the Tetraski has changed their winter outdoor experience. After several lessons tethered to a Tetraski instructor, the skier on the Tetraski is able to ski independently by using a togel switch to control the skiis. Other devices allow disabled skiers to go down the mountain, but they are not in control, someone else is taking them down the mountain. For a disabled athlete, that sense of independence is worth its weight in gold. Vermont winters are long! Getting out to ski is good for emotional and mental health.
Please consider making a donation, no matter how small. It all adds up! The Tetraski costs $40,000 to purchase. My goal is to raise, $5,000. I have already received a $2,500 grant from one foundation, trying to raise the rest with your help.
Check out a Tetraski on Youtube on the following link.
Thanks!
