On Monday 27th October 2025, my brother-in-law Lewis — husband to Sarah, devoted dad to two beautiful girls, and an incredible uncle — was involved in a life-changing incident through no fault of his own.
What should have been a special day celebrating his eldest daughter’s 10th birthday changed within a matter of hours. Shortly after having lunch with his family, Lewis stopped at the local Sainsbury’s to buy lottery tickets. As he was leaving the store, he was struck by a car in the car park and became trapped between the vehicle and the front of the store.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs. As a result, Lewis sustained severe, life-changing injuries. He spent three months in critical care and is still recovering from the extensive injuries he suffered. Lewis’s life — and the lives of his family — have been changed forever.
In response to this, I have decided to take part in a white-collar boxing event to raise funds for the emergency services who quite literally saved my brother-in-law’s life that day.
The funds raised will be donated to the North West Air Ambulance Service, a charity-run organisation that plays a vital role in responding to life-threatening emergencies. Any donation, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated by myself and my family and will help this incredible service continue its life-saving work.
Thank you for your support.
