The North Tampa Twister Sisters need your help getting to the World Series July 27th! Here's our story!
Our 10u All Star softball team, the Twisted Sisters, fought long and hard this year with one goal in mind; winning the Babe Ruth State Championship in Lake City. After coming in second place at districts in Madeira Beach, our girls trained with diligence and determination to redeem themselves against first place Bloomingdale.
The Twisted Sisters set the tone as a dangerous team to beat with two back to back wins starting at 8am Thursday, June 28th. After a 3 day rain delay, the girls demonstrated extreme perseverance by winning their third game at 12:30am Monday morning, July 2nd.
Monday afternoon the Sisters finally came face to face with their district rival, Bloomingdale. After clinching a 4-1 win, the Twisted Sisters moved on to the championship game against West Volusia. Once again the lightning interrupted the game, however, the two teams took advantage of Florida's unforgiving elements by challenging one another to a dance off.
Once the officials cleared the lightning delay, the game was quickly finished with a 6-1 win for the Twisted Sisters. The girls, of course, celebrated in true softball form with a massive dog pile, knowing they would be going to the World Series.
Overall, the Sisters gave up only 7 run and scored 32 runs in 5 games. The Twisted Sisters are looking forward to embarking on their next journey to the Babe Ruth World Series, July 28th through August 4th in Jensen Beach, FL.
