I'm a retired FDNY firefighter (1997-2018) now living on Oahu. Severe flooding from recent storms has devastated the North Shore, forcing evacuations and causing widespread damage. Families, friends, and small local businesses, are now facing incredible loss and uncertainty. As someone who has always been deeply rooted in supporting my community, I am committed to managing these funds with integrity, urgency, and transparency.
I have over 20 years of experience in emergency response, including service with FDNY Special Operations, FEMA US&R, and Incident Management Teams, I understand the importance of acting quickly and responsibly and that need will change as the recovery evolves. Funds raised will be distributed in two phases. The immediate relief phase will focus on providing funds for essential needs—food, clean water, shelter, clothing, and basic supplies for impacted families and businesses. Distribution will be set up on the next couple business days. to begin releasing funds.
Within 90 days a more structured needs assessment will guide the responsible allocation of remaining funds toward repairs, and ongoing support for those facing continued hardship.
