VE Kayak Challenge for Cancer Research
A moment of madness during lock-down...
Out came the kayaking machine that hadn't been used for years, and I decided to do something really challenging. Paddle from Sunderland (my home town) to Dunkirk to mark 75 years of Victory in Europe.
A journey of around 520km across the North Sea, hugging the east coast of England.
The aim is to raise as much as possible for Cancer Research UK. Sadly, I recently lost my mam to the disease. Whilst my mam's battle was brief, many other brave people fight for years against the invisible enemy, both old and young.
Cancer Research funding has suffered significantly during the Covid 19 epidemic, but the demand for successful treatment is as great as ever.
Please help this essential charity by giving whatever you can. Every little doesn't just help, it motivates me to carry on!
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to research on the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer. Thanks to research, more people are surviving cancer than ever before.
Thanks for your support!
See you on the virtual Sea ;-)
