North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team run the Cheviot Goat
Help Us Tackle the UK’s Loneliest Race!
On December 7th, a team of 4 Mountain Rescue volunteers (Dean, Carl, James and Cecily) will be braving the Cheviot Goat Ultra Marathon. It’s called this because in Northumberland in winter the only creatures still roaming the hills are the wild Cheviot goats. During this 59-mile run we will need to self navigate including during the dark.
As part of our training for the run we will also be taking part in the Tour of Skiddaw 45-mile Ultra marathon this summer.
We are doing this to raise funds for our own amazing North of Tyne Mountain Rescue team. We’re on call 24/7, 365 days a year, rescuing lost or injured adventurers across Northumberland as well as searching for vulnerable people.
We’re aiming to raise enough money to buy six new essential medical bags. These bags are crucial for carrying all the life-saving kit we need during callouts.
Your donations will keep us running and help us continue our incredible work. We promise to think of you while we’re knee-deep in icy bog.
Thanks so much for your support!
