On January 10th, 2021 the Colfax community lost a wonderful man, Russell C. North. He was diagnosed in November 2014 with colorectal cancer. After only 9 months in remission from his incredible fight against his first diagnosis, he was given a new challenge, lung and liver cancer, in February of 2016. He continued to fight, having the liver cancer removed and living with lung cancer, receiving insurmountable amounts of chemotherapy and radiation. Once again, the cancer continued to metastasize, finding its way to his bones in October of 2019. After 6 long years, his battle was lost.

Russ is survived by his wife, Kim, and his two children, Scott and Svea. The North family is asking for help in providing a service for family, friends, and community members. Most importantly, the North’s will now be facing extreme financial hardship, without additional support. Without help, they could possibly face being forced out of their home and unable to make ends meet. The family asks for anything that could help them get by during this trying time.
