Norman Jayo's Senior Care Support Campaign
Donation protected
I’m writing to you on behalf of our dear friend Norman Jayo who has been suffering from advanced dementia. His beloved home for the past six years at The International Hotel, a senior independent living facility, is no longer adequate to support his needs. Recently, he was transferred to Providence Place, a senior care memory facility in San Francisco, and he needs our help. He would never ask you, so I’m asking for him. We need $5000 to cover his transition fees and other expenses.
During the 1970's Norman’s tireless efforts to resist the evictions of Filipino seniors at the International Hotel were legendary. The resurrection of the I Hotel is part of his great legacy as an activist and community organizer. So many institutions and individuals have benefited from his advocacy, artistry and tutelage - as a poet, radio journalist and dramatist, filmmaker, teacher and founder of Pacifica Radio's national training programs for people of color in the domestic US and Alaska.
Now he needs the same support he's generously given during his lifetime. We hope you will find it in your heart to help raise the $5000 he immediately needs to cover his transition. Let’s take care of our friend and valiant warrior, Norman Jayo.
“Thanks for taking the time to read about our fundraiser. Even if you aren’t able to donate right now, I’d really appreciate if you took a moment to share this fundraiser with your friends and family.”
