“Normal” Short Film Post-Production Fund:
As an actress and creator, this film has been a passion project for me. We’ve thrown all our energy and money into it and now we turn to you! We need your help - please help support us in finishing our film, so we can share this story that we believe needs to be told!
Logline: A young mother suffers from a fraying psyche.
“Normal” is a short film about a young single mother struggling with her mental health and life during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This film was co-written and created and filmed by two of us - Kasia Pilewicz & Aliethea D’Angelo. That’s right, no crew, no big production…we were stuck not able to work at the start of the major 2020 Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, so we decided to get creative and think outside the box. “Normal” is starring Kasia Pilewicz and Beatrycze Pilewicz, and is directed and shot by Aliethea D’Angelo.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic began last year, millions of people have been struggling with unemployment, financial, health and rising mental health issues, often in silence. We wanted to shed a light on these issues through the story of Sarah, a young single mom suffering and struggling to stay afloat and take care of her young daughter.
She is not crazy, she is not unusual, she is not alone.
We are making this film to bring these issues to light and “normalize” the conversation about them… this could be your neighbor, your friend, your sister, your colleague.
We are currently raising our post-production fund.
Our aim is a very quick turnaround with this timely subject matter - to make the film festival deadlines starting next month with Cannes - February 2021! We have every confidence that we will get into some top festivals, especially with the story behind the making of this film... made solely by two people during covid lock down - just the director, an iPhone, and an actress.

Why we’re raising funds - Post Production Fund:
We have self funded this project up until this point, but now need money to pay for post-production work to get us to the finish line. Although the post-production process is an expensive one, we are striving to source the best crew for the most competitive rates.
All donations will go towards the post-production costs: sound design, color, compositing, rotoscoping, marketing and film festival submissions.
