Norma 'Toot' Johnson Cancer Fund

Norma ‘Toot’ Johnson, formerly Norma Mills, was recently diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The cancer originated in her right tonsil and spread to two of her right lymph nodes as well as some of the tissue surrounding the right tonsil. In preparation for treatment, Norma underwent a right tonsillectomy, had all teeth removed, and had a feeding tube installed.
On Monday, August 20th, she will begin radiation therapy, which is expected to be 5 days a week for 7 weeks. On the 21st, she will begin chemotherapy, which is expected to be once weekly for 6-7 weeks. Because Norma already has Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), her treatment process may be more difficult than usual as chemotherapy can cause additional damage to her already diseased kidneys. As you might imagine, the looming cloud that is cancer puts an enormous strain on the family both emotionally and financially. Rapidly, Norma’s medical bills are surmounting. The requested target goal will help the family with Norma’s medical bills as well as other treatment-related expenses.
If you know Norma, you know that she is the heart of both her extended and immediate family. Norma and her husband, Mike, have been together for 33 years and have been married for 20 years. Norma helped raise Mike’s daughter, Tiffany, who she thinks of as her own. Together, Norma and her husband have a son, Michael, that is 19, a daughter, Suzanne, who just started her Freshman year at North Posey High School, and a grand-daughter, Liberty, who is 13. Norma is a 1985 graduate of North Posey High School.
Norma has the soul of a Saint and is one of those everyday heroes that live in the background helping others. She is the type of person that has literally given the shirt off her back for someone in need. She is quick to help her family, friends, and even strangers. Please help someone who has spent her life helping others. If you are unable to donate, please keep Norma and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Norma is a humble servant of God Almighty and believes that he has been present and will continue to be present through this difficult journey. In her words, Norma is prepared to “Woop Cancer’s Butt!”
