Norm & Deb Journey

Hi my name Is Joan Batchelor , I am the sister-in-law and friend and I have decided to start a go fund me page for a couple who would never ask you for anything but instead offer you what they have regardless if they would be short . They are generous : genuine: and have been grateful for everyday even in the midst of fighting cancer twice during a pamedic , lack of communication within the community , not being looked after due to Covid - to isolation- to unemployment . We hear it a lot these days : unfortunately, When you call them they would be excited the sun was shining or they could bundle up and get outdoors . Or listen to a favourite tune and share a dance in their living room . Always grateful for the day . They asked for nothing ,All this while dealing with a new way of life - learning to speak with help of devices after months and months of silence . Many more challenges unmentioned due to respect for them. Norm is a respected native elder from Matachewan First Nation as well as a mens traditional dancer on the POW WOW-trail:  When Norm could be at the hospital helping people with their journey or doing a smudge for someone in his home or yard he would gladly do it.Norm use to volunteer at the schools ; organization's youth groups  and hospitals  sharing his time and knowledge of his culture , He was proudest of his culture and he happily shared with others, Deb supported this and shared in the same values,Deb being the full time care giver for 2 years without help and never a complaint all out  of love . . I heard a little about go fund me while away and wanted to discuss with Norm and Deb about it . If they would mind if I set this up so those who love and support them who don’t know what to do or how to help could contribute through here .I never got to have that conversation , I feel I am safe to go ahead and reach out to friends family and all who lives they touched at this time .
