Nora's Crowd
Donation protected
Our Nora (age 3) has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and her family needs our help. Many of you are already aware that her mother Tara (my neice) has been living with Type 1 from many years now. Like Tara, Nora will need lots of supplies to help her keep this under control. There will also be many trips to her doctor and many of these expensed are not covered by insurance This is why we are putting together a modest campaign to assist with those expenses. Many of us have already thought about what we can do to help Nora along with Tara, husband Pat and sisters Maeve and baby Adelaide. Please consider giving what you can so the family can focus all of their efforts on Nora's health.
Here's some thoughts from Tara: I am so overwhelmed with everyone's kindness and support over the past few days. Thank you so very much!! It means the world to us to hear from so many family and friends!
I am struggling with this diagnosis. Partly bc I know too much about it. It is so painful to prepare Nora for a life that includes calloused fingers and 7+ shots per day. The look on her face when we have to check her sugar or give her a shot is breaking my heart. I'm trying to smile and stay strong all while crumbling on the inside.
This little girl is so incredibly brave. She's fighting a battle that she knows very little about, but it will be a part of her for the rest of her life. It's so wonderful to see that sassy, silly, snuggly girl still shine through. Although she continues to smile... it's hard to know what's going on in her head. All I know is she is fighting and showing more courage than a 3 year old should have to at this point in time. I hope she knows we love her more than she could possibly know and wish we could take it all away.
