Nora's Broken Smile

Hi, my name is Anita and this is my granddaughter, Nora. If you know her, you know she is a regular spunky, busy 2 year old. What most people don't know is that most of the time Nora is in a significant amount of pain. She was born with severe enamel hypoplasia - a developmental defect where no enamel forms on the teeth. Because of this all of Nora's top teeth rot or break as soon as they come through, causing her pain. She was recently in emergency for an oral abscess and infection that needed a course of antibiotics.

Nora needs to see a pediatric dental surgeon in Vancouver to have significant dental reconstruction where they will save the teeth they can, fix the cavities, pull or reconstruct others. This will give her much needed relief and help her adult teeth grow in properly.

Unfortunately regular dental does not cover this procedure, which with travel and other expenses is estimated at $10,000. This is a necessary expense that no doubt would be financial stress on most families and especially when it needs to be done as soon as possible. We also know that like Dustin and Emily, many are struggling financially, but every donation counts, no matter the size, to get this done quickly and get little Nora the help she needs.
