My name is Jessie Brugger, and on behalf of the Cooney family, I am starting this GoFundMe to help with the funeral expenses for Nora Cooney.
Nora was loved by many. She was a daughter, sister, friend, and aunt (“Aunty No-no.")
Nora leaves behind her mother, Jane, boyfriend, Chris from Tallahassee, oldest sister, Caitlin Patrick of Suffolk, Virginia, and Aisling Cooney of Seattle, Washington. She also leaves behind her Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Dutch, and her kitten, Binxy.
Life truly isn’t fair. At only 25 years old, Nora was taken from us far too soon as a result of a head-on collision on Saturday, September 25th in Grady County, Ga. Nora was only fifteen minutes from her home in Tallahassee, Florida. The driver that claimed Nora’s life was driving in the wrong direction in her lane, without headlights. There is a pending investigation which may take months for additional information to be released. We are angry and devastated, but most of all, we just want to give Nora the memorial service she deserves.
A special thank you to the first responders and citizens of the Thomasville and Grady County areas. I also want to recognize the young men that stopped and jumped into action to help, the wedding party heroes: Johntavis, John, Jamal, Jordan, and KD.
