Help Nora to come back home. (Repatriation)

Hello everyone.

My name is Adriano, I´m italian and I´ve been living in Australia since years. But this is not about me.

Last Friday 13th of August, my partner and 4 friends had a big car accident where one of the tyres blew up and lost the car control, rolling over multiple times. It happened around Alice Springs (Australia). Unfortunately, Nora passed away and now I need your help to afford all the expensive costs of repatriation and let her join her family and friends for the last time. She had travel insurance, but the company doesn’t cover her repatriation so I feel I must do this crowdfunding campaign to permit her to come back home as soon as possible.

Nora was 29 years old and she was full of life. She was living on the Gold Coast since almost 2 years, but she was originally from Blanes (Spain). She was vegetarian, nature and animal lover. She had an Environment Sciences degree, she lived and studied in Seville, Madrid, Girona and Barcelona. If you are reading this from one of this points, you probably know her, as she was well known by everyone everywhere. She was always positive and making people smile around her. She loved to mix different nationalities and groups of friends, she was the soul of ours. She made a group of friends that became a family, and as a family we want to help her now. She was meant to go back home in two weeks; August 26th, a hen party with her best friends in Spain, a master degree already payed, and to many surprises already thought for her family and friends. She was very excited for her further plans. The master was about animal health and food safety. Her parents, obviously, are experiencing their worst time of their life as they are still waiting for her to come back and give her a last hug.

My friends and I are devastated and we miss her so much. She passed away doing what she loved the most, exploring with friends. Nora started her journey full of joy and excited of finishing it in Uluru, a very special and spiritual place. There wasn’t a best way to finish this australian adventure than watching the meteor shower in the heart of Australia, but we couldn’t make it…

This situation is very tough when it happens in your country, but far away from home it’s even more complicated. We just want Nora to come back home to her family and friends ASAP.

Now that you also know her a bit more, I would like your help. We need to collect 7.300£ (14.500 AUD o 8.500€) urgently, as it happened 2 weeks ago, to cover what the Albin funeral company requires, including embalming, repatriation and coffin from Alice Springs Hospital to Barcelona.

Me llamo Adriano, soy italiano y vivo en Australia desde hace varios años. Pero esta historia no va sobre mí.

El pasado viernes 13 de agosto, mi pareja y 4 amigos más tuvieron un grave accidente de coche en el cual una de las ruedas explotó y perdieron el control del vehículo, causando varias vueltas de campana. Ocurrió por los alrededores de Alice Springs (Australia). Desafortunadamente, Nora falleció en acto y ahora necesitamos vuestra ayuda para cubrir los gastos de repatriación y hacer que se reúna con su familia y amigos lo antes posible. Ella tenía un seguro de viaje, pero la aseguradora no cubre los gastos, por lo que nos hemos visto obligados a realizar esta campaña para que vuelva a casa lo antes posible.

Nora tenía 29 años y muchas ganas de comerse el mundo. Llevaba casi 2 años viviendo en Gold Coast, aunque era de Blanes. Era vegetariana, amante de la naturaleza y de los animales. Había estudiado una carrera sobre ciencias medioambientales, vivió una temporada en Sevilla, en Madrid, en Girona y en Barcelona. Si estás leyendo esto desde alguno de esos lugares probablemente la conocías, pues era el alma de la fiesta. Siempre con una sonrisa allí donde iba, y mezclando gente de todas las nacionalidades, era sin duda el alma de nuestro grupo. Ella hizo que aquí fuéramos familia y ahora, como familia, queremos ayudarla. Tenía el vuelo de vuelta a España en dos semanas; el 26 de agosto, una despedida de soltera, un máster ya pagado, sorpresas preparadas para su familia y amigos, y mucha ilusión por sus planes de futuro. El máster que iba a estudiar era sobre la sanidad animal y seguridad alimentaria. Sus padres, obviamente, también están pasando un mal momento ya que aún no ha podido volver a casa y siguen esperándola para abrazarla una última vez.

Mis amigos y yo estamos devastados y la echamos muchísimo de menos. Murió haciendo lo que más le gustaba, viajando con amigos. Nora empezó este viaje con mucha ilusión ya que el final del viaje era Uluru, un sitio muy especial y espiritual. Ni para ella, ni para nosotros, había mejor manera de despedirse de la aventura australiana que viendo la lluvia de las estrellas en el corazón del país, pero no pudimos llegar…

Esta situación ya es muy complicada cuando sucede en tu país, pero cuando estás tan lejos de casa se complica aún más. Queremos que Nora llegue a su casa y con su familia lo antes posible.

Ahora que vosotros conocéis un poco mejor su historia, os pediría vuestra ayuda. Necesitamos reunir 7.300£ (14.500 $AUD o 8.500€) urgentemente, ya que han pasado 2 semanas, para cumplir el presupuesto que la funeraria Albin nos pide, incluyendo embalsamación y repatriación del cuerpo desde el hospital de Alice Springs a Barcelona
