Hospitalized due to Acute Heart Rejection

Donation protected

Dear Family and Friends,

2/10/2022
Family and Friends, Nora has had a serious setback. Monday February 7, Nora was admitted to OU Children's Cardiac ICU with acute heart rejection due to Covid. We are reaching out to ask for your prayers and any support you can offer the Benjamin Family at this extremely difficult time. Sara and Billy are spending days with Nora and evenings with the twins. Sara and Billy need all the financial support we can give due to medical bills and weeks out of work. We appreciate your everlasting love and continued support throughout Nora's journey! We could not do it without you

Nora was flown to St. Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri, on July, 13th, she has been diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, an extremely rare heart condition. She is currently in stable condition and undergoing many procedures and tests in preparation for being placed on the  Heart transplant list. We are praying she will receive a heart very soon, as the condition is also affecting her lungs, and this will keep her from  needing a Heart/Lung transplant.

The hospital is approximately eight hours away from their home in Oklahoma City.  This alone puts an immediate hardship on the family.  Due to the current Covid - 19 restrictions, only one parent is allowed  to stay overnight with Nora. This means they are  having to make other accommodations outside of the hospital during the night.

As was mentioned above, this diagnosis was completely unexpected.  Our family is devastated. Sara and Billy are also parents to one-year old twin girls, Adeline and Clara. Adeline and Clara will remain in OKC, with their Uncle Chris and Aunt Heather Barnes, along with their Gigi, Deborah Brown, while their parents and sister are in Missouri.

This sweet family has a very long and difficult road ahead, both emotionally and financially. We have started this Go Fund Me Campaign to relieve some of that burden. They will need assistance with medical bills, travel expenses,  living expenses in St. Louis,  loss of wages, as well as their regular expenses and help with caring for the twins.

This has been a tremendous amount to process in a very short amount of time. We are so grateful for your prayers and support. Please give whatever you are able, and please feel free to share this post. Please  feel free to add Nora to any prayer chains as we believe in the power of prayer.  Thank you for being a blessing to the Benjamin Family during this very difficult time.  We remain hopeful and in constant faithful prayer.
We will update you as new information arises.

With love and sincerity,
Nora Benjamin's Family
