We, the family and friends of Nora Bagnall, Michaela Bagnall, and Melzea Allison, ask that you open your hearts and help us raise money for Nora's immediate medical care.
After a challenging year for this family, including housing insecurity and several cases of Covid-19, Nora, at 13 months old, was rushed to the hospital non-responsive. The expert team at Connecticut Children's Medical Center saved her life and diagnosed her with Hyperinsulinemia, a rare and life-threatening disorder.
This disorder causes Nora's body to produce an excess of insulin, dropping her blood sugar to dangerous levels. Uncontrolled, this can cause increased heart rate, seizures, brain damage, and even death.
Nora's medical team has recommended that she be transferred by ambulance to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) into the care of specialists in this disorder. The hope is that the CHOP team will be able to stabilize Nora's condition and make it manageable for her parents to treat at home. The ambulance, treatment, medication, travel and housing expenses will be excessive and more than this hardworking family can manage independently.
This GoFundMe campaign is our attempt to make this heartbreaking experience a little more manageable for Nora, Michaela, and Mel. We hope you can contribute to this effort and be one thread in the tapestry of care that covers this family at this challenging time.
Thank you for your care and generosity.
