Nonprofit Campaign - for multiple Masjids in Jamaica

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakaatuhu my brothers and sisters unfortunately we are currently required to give up the rented facility for the Mussalah (Sakinah 1) but before we can do so we have to fulfill a few requirements,namely: 

**Overdue rent $2000 CAD

Utilities $1428 CAD

Repairs and restoration $2380 CAD TOTAL $5,808 CAD     $4012 USD

My name is Ashley (Asiyah), I was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada when I was 13yrs old, I’m now 25yrs old. I grew up in a Christian family, only child for my Mother, Alhamdulillah for her and all the love Allah SWT poured through her for me to receive.

After I moved to Canada, life wasn’t always the best, but Alhamdulillah for all the pain and all ease that came after.

I COMPLETELY lost myself for a few years, I wasn’t the best person, I didn’t value and respect myself especially as a woman, I didn’t see the purpose of living anymore but Alhamdulillah I reverted in April of 2022, reverting to Islam has changed my life in ways words cannot explain. I feel as if I can breathe again, Alhamdulillah for everything.

I went for a visit to Jamaica in August 2022, I visited one of the Masjid in my home city (Montego Bay). I simply went to donate a few items and while being in the Masjid I randomly felt as if I NEEDED to do more. Even though I’m a recent revert, I feel that there’s so much I can do and will do, InshaAllah.

With that being said, I will continue to pray to Allah SWT that we can also receive help from all of our brothers and sisters InshaAllah. Whether we’re in the same country or not, whether it’s by praying, donating funds, clothes, food, or just sharing the link, InshaAllah.

While visiting the Masjid, I spoke with Imam Ahmad Gulab ,great grand- of Lal Muhammad Gulab who donated the property and constructed the first Mosque built in Jamaica.

Imam Ahmad Gulab’s family is amongst the first to establish the Deen of Islam in Jamaica and built the first Masjid (Masjid Hussain) in Westmoreland, Jamaica . Imam Ahmad Gulab also established several Masjid/Mussalahs in different parts of the Island ,Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Santa Cruz etc .

The Masjid that I visited, is not owned, they are currently renting, the cost of rent is expensive.

There’s not much space in the Masjid, however they still make it work, Alhamdulillah.

The plan is to buy a land to build at least 1 Masjid and help to up keep the other Masjids until we can build more Masjid, InshaAllah.

They are thankful for what they already have, Alhamdulillah.

I would love to help in all possible ways, brothers and sisters Jamaica Muslims need your help more than ever.

With the strength from Allah SWT, I hope you find space in your hearts to make Dua’s for all the Muslims in Jamaica InshaAllah.
