Questa sono io, Laura, …qualche anno fa….in uno dei miei viaggi in Cina. Mi sono innamorata di questo paese a 15 anni quando, durante un periodo di malattia, giravo annoiata tra le librerie di casa e mi capitò di trovare un vecchio romanzo ingiallito, La buona terra, di Pearl S. Buck. Fu un colpo di fulmine! Da quelle pagine è partita la mia avventura con questo eccezionale paese. Sono stata in Cina tante volte, come interprete, guida turistica, imprenditrice, viaggiatrice. Adesso, da diversi anni, insegno lingua e cultura cinese in un liceo linguistico, perché ho sentito il desiderio di trasferire ad altri una passione che a me ha dato sempre grandi gioie. Condivido quotidianamente conoscenze ed esperienze con ragazzi pieni di entusiasmo, desiderosi di imparare e di viaggiare per conoscere il mondo. Quest’anno, per la prima volta, la nostra scuola ha organizzato un viaggio in Cina, a Chengdu e Pechino, ed io accompagnerò le mie classi a toccare con mano quello che abbiamo studiato per cinque anni. Per me, una grande gratificazione. Per loro, una grande emozione. Tutto sarebbe semplicemente perfetto se non fosse che non tutti i ragazzi delle classi coinvolte potranno partecipare a causa dell’impegno economico piuttosto significativo. Lasciare qualcuno fuori da questo viaggio sarebbe molto triste. Vorrei che tutti potessero partire insieme e coronare così un percorso fatto di impegno, sfide, amicizie, successi e fallimenti che abbiamo sempre affrontato insieme in questi anni.

Non posso non pensare al film Non uno di meno, che faccio sempre vedere agli studenti. La scuola si fa tutti insieme e nessuno deve mancare. Ed è per questo che chiedo la collaborazione di tutti quelli che ci vorranno aiutare. Dateci il vostro contributo, adesso, per poter partire tutti insieme per questa esperienza indimenticabile. This is me, Laura... a few years ago... on one of my trips to China. I fell in love with the country when I was 15; while recovering from an illness, I was bored and browsing through the bookshelves at home when I stumbled upon an old, yellowed novel: *The Good Earth* by Pearl S. Buck. It was love at first sight! That book sparked my adventure with this extraordinary country. I have visited China many times—as an interpreter, a tour guide, an entrepreneur, and a traveler. For the past several years, I have been teaching Chinese language and culture at a specialized language high school, driven by a desire to pass on a passion that has brought me so much joy. Every day, I share knowledge and experiences with enthusiastic young people who are eager to learn and travel to discover the world. This year, for the first time, our school has organized a trip to China—visiting Chengdu and Beijing—and I will be accompanying my classes so they can experience firsthand what we have studied for five years. For me, it is deeply gratifying; for them, it is incredibly exciting. Everything would be absolutely perfect, were it not for the fact that not all the students in the participating classes can afford to go, given the significant cost involved. It would be heartbreaking to leave anyone behind. I want us all to go together and thus crown a journey defined by hard work, challenges, friendships, successes, and failures—experiences we have navigated together over the years.

I cannot help but think of the film *Not One Less*, which I always show my students. Education is a collective endeavor, and no one should be left out.
