Hello,
We are a collective of non-european artists studying choreography at SNDO (School for new Dance Development) in Amsterdam.
We are students working to be able to sustain rent, living expenses and our tuition-fees, while studying full-time.
In the Netherlands students with a non-european passport are only allowed to work up to 16 hours a week with a legal contract (mostly on minimum wage), which almost only covers our monthly school fees. On top of it, we all know that finding an affordable space to live in Amsterdam is incredibly challenging, and student housing is much less accessible for those who just migrated to the country.
This Gofundme aims to help cover our tuition fees, which are almost three times more than the fee that European students have to pay. As we entered this school the amount we had to pay was 5,315, in our second year it raised to 5,615 and next year it is going to cost us 6,139 euros.
This Gofundme is designed to accompany a circular economy project we are developing, a series of events that include dinners, workshops, screenings, readings, parties and other proposals of collective care.
We are aiming to be able to give space and time for our artistic practices, and we are seeking to find ways of supporting each other collectively to decrease our individual exhaustion.
