Nomcebo works voluntarily in Swaziland to educate girls and boys about menstruation and to stop the stigma and break the taboos. No girl should feel ashamed of her period.
Periods are a natural part of life and none of us would be here without them.

Why are we fundraising?
Nomcebo lost her job recently and to enable her to carry on with her valuable work on a voluntary basis she needs to raise some money. She has three children and education in Swaziland is only free through to the 4th grade. The money raised will cover school fees, uniforms, bus fares and stationery for Nomcebo's children, for one year. It will also cover the costs of the sanitary pads used when talking to the girls. Nomcebo walks very long distances most days and a small donation will be extremely valuable and hugely appreciated.
Full transparency
Money raised will need to pass through one the team's UK bank account and then will be passed on to Nomcebo by means of a MoneyGram transfer. Unfortunately Swaziland is not yet supported by the out funds processor, so we cannot name Nomcebo as a direct beneficiary.
June 2020 Update
Thanks to everyone who has kindly donated so far. All contributions are hugely appreciated and have allowed Nomcebo to get out and about talking to the young girls who need to hear the message that there is no shame in having a period. Your money has been well spent:
"I was able to buy/cover costs of the sanitary pads used when talking to the girls. During my presentations I brought fruits, some snacks as well as sanitary pads for the girls. And I was also able to reach out to so many girls."
Stretch Target
The original target of £1500 was set to meet Nomcebo's annual costs. We fell a little short of that but as we have been fundraising now for longer than a year and the original target has been met we have now raised the target to £3000. Thanks again for all your support and please spread the word.
