Ride with me on the Nomad Summer
Donation protected
I am/was an avid mountain biker and backpacker. I became paralyzed from the waist down in December 2021. I was planning to hike the Pacific Crest Trail starting at the Mexican border in April. The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) begins in southern California at the Mexican border and travels a total distance of 2,650 miles through California, Oregon, and Washington until reaching the Canadian border. Rather than give up on my dream of backpacking the Pacific Crest, I decided to become a Trail Angel who dispenses Trail magic. Trail Magic has planned acts of kindness offered to hikers and horseback riders free of charge or expectations. It could be anything from food to hot showers and everything in between. I will begin driving the trail as closely as possible beginning in spring, stopping to dispense trail magic where the trail passes areas I can get my Subaru to. I plan to offer hot showers, food, a charging station and rides to hikers along the way. Thru-hikers, hikers hiking the complete trail, carry the absolute lightest load possible. In the 4 to 6 months it takes to complete the hike they live on what they can carry. Some trail magic goes a long way.
My goal is to show people who are paralyzed that they do not have to give up on their dreams - It is just sometimes necessary in life to reevaluate the goal.
I am seeking sponsors for equipment, food, gas, automotive, and travel expenses.
I will be blogging about the preparation and journey here https://nomadsummer.com/ in addition you will be able to track and text via my iphone14.
Come with me on my Nomad Summer journey. I want to explore the beauty of the mountains and talk to people who would walk 2600 miles and share it with you. Imagine if you had the opportunity to help people out in this amazing cusp in their lives. This is all no done for no charge, no gifts, no donations from the hikers.
