Recently the world lost a legend in the world of hydraulic fracturing. Ken Nolte passed away on July 6th, 2016 in the comfort of his home in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Most known for his contribution to the Nolte/Smith Plot which revolutionized the interpretation of net-pressure behavior during and after hydraulic fracture treatments, Ken's career spanned more than 45 years including his role as a technical advisor for fracturing research and development for Schlumberger.
Ken was also the co-founder of Nolte-Smith, Inc. (now NSI Technologies, LLC) and an inspiration to those who had the opportunity to meet and work with him over the years.
In his honor NSI Technologies is collecting donations for a scholarship to be made in Ken's name to be awarded by SPE Mid Continent Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Ken will be truly missed and all of us here at NSI Technologies are grateful for your support in helping Ken's memory live on through the eyes of a future young petroleum engineer.
Services will be held for Ken on Monday the 18th at Fellowship Lutheran Church at 71st and Sheridan
(6727 S. Sheridan Road, Tulsa, OK, 74133) in Tulsa, Oklahoma at1:00pm.
