Nickels for Noelle
As my wife and I were preparing to send our oldest son to high school, we got the news that our friends’ daughter, also getting ready for her first day of high school, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She is 14. This week, when most high schoolers were navigating their new schedules and trading summertime stories with friends, Noelle was starting chemotherapy at MCV in Richmond, Virginia.
Noelle is brave. Noelle has great friends and a wonderful family to support her during this tough time. And I think it would be awesome for Noelle to know that there are hundreds more encouraging her over the next several months.
To honor Noelle, I'm going to train for and run two races on back to back weekends in November(OBX Half Marathon on 11/7 and the Richmond Marathon on 11/14). I hope you will join me in raising money for Noelle and her sweet family. Whether you can donate 20 nickels or 2,000 nickels, it is my hope that each nickel will bless Noelle and her family. More importantly, though I hope that our nickels will be a symbol that we are standing in solidarity with Noelle. You can read Noelle's full story here:
