Why We’re Doing This Walk
We are taking on this charity walk to support an incredibly important cause that began with Nick’s story.
After being diagnosed with stage 4, incurable cancer, friends and family originally organised a fun day to help Nick tick off some bucket-list dreams — including a special family trip to Canada — while he is still well enough to travel and make precious memories with his wife and daughters.
But the idea has grown into something much bigger.
Nick never felt comfortable with everything being centred around him. Instead, he wanted to turn the support he received into something lasting — something that could help others facing the same devastating diagnosis.
Alongside helping with the costs of his own bucket-list experiences, the funds raised will help create a brand-new charity built on hope, kindness, and moments of light during the darkest of times.
Nick’s wish is to leave a legacy that supports other families living with stage 4 cancer. The charity will aim to help people in similar circumstances enjoy meaningful experiences of their own — whether that’s a thrilling activity, a special family day out, or something as simple as a trip for coffee and cake together.
It also hopes to provide access to complementary therapies that can ease both the physical pain and emotional toll of cancer treatment — therapies that are often out of reach, yet can make a real difference to quality of life.
A moment of excitement, a calming treatment, or simply a break from the daily reality of illness can bring a ray of sunshine to what is often an overwhelming journey.
By supporting our walk, you’re not just helping one family.
You’re helping many — now and in the future.
Thank you for your support.
