Noah's Campaign to Help Fly Critically Ill Kids
Tax deductible
My name is Noah Horowitz and I am an 8th grader at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago, Illinois. I have a passion for aviation and technology. I am about to have a bar-mitzvah which is an important moment for a Jewish person when you are 13. At a bar-mitzvah, you have to read from the Torah (a sacred text), sing prayers, and I’ve also chosen to do a special bar-mitzvah project. I chose a bar-mitzvah project so I could help other people.
Because of my interest in flying, I researched and found AeroAngel, an aviation charity that helps really sick kids travel to and from life-saving medical care at Children’s Hospitals on private jets with volunteer professional pilots at no cost to their families. AeroAngel flights are for those children that are so ill they have no other safe way to get to Children’s Hospitals, such as commercial air travel or air ambulance.
Recently I spoke with AeroAngel’s President and Founder, Mark Pestal, about what I could do to help them. We talked about the work of the nonprofit and what the children on their flights may like to have to bring comfort or a smile to them while flying. I thought it would be really cool to support AeroAngel’s mission by raising money to pay for things such as an aviator Teddy bear, cozy blanket, hat, or tote bag with the AeroAngel logo on it for their sick passengers.
So I decided to start a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for them to purchase these items. Any donation amount is helpful and greatly appreciated but hopefully this can help serve as a guide when you consider the right amount:
Hat/Beanie $18
Aviator Teddy Bear $36
Tote Bag $54
Warm and Cozy Blanket $72
Generous Combination $108
Captains Club $144
The gifts will provide comfort and joy to the kids on a flight who are not feeling well. Giving them these toys and blankets will also make a long plane ride shorter since AeroAngel does flights all across the country. One thing Mr. Pestal told me was that sometimes the planes get cold in flight or on the ground, so a blanket would keep passengers warm and a Teddy Bear would give them a friend to cuddle with while on the flight.
Thanks for reading this and remember your donation helps more than you could ever imagine!
