Noah's surgery and post-care needs

Hi friends and family,

First, thank you for offering an abundance of support these past few weeks. As many of you know I will undergo a full hysterectomy on November 8. This has become a medical necessity and is not a part of an elective gender affirming surgery. That said, there are gender affirming components of this surgery with complex emotions attached. As I was relaying this to a friend, he reflected "Life’s a journey. Sometimes we choose our own journey and sometimes our journey happens to us. This is one of those moments where your journey is just happening!" Thanks for being in my life on this stretch of the journey.

Many folks have asked how they can help. Written and digital communications are always incredibly hopeful and inspiring. I have been really encouraged by everyone’s outreach and hold deep gratitude for every visit, message, phone call, letter, act of care, package, and email :) I have been encouraged to share other ways folks can contribute. I will likely be "down" for two weeks as I recover, and want to give my body time and rest to heal.
