Noah’s School

This June I turn 50! And to mark the milestone I am running the Hackney Half Marathon on the 18th of May.

To give me the motivation and inspiration I would love to raise funds for my adorable grandson’s Noah’s school. School is such a special place for Noah and also gives his awesome mum Kellie a well deserved break. Noah is 3 years old and has one of the rarest genetic disorders in the world called IQSEC 2 along with epilepsy. Due to his delayed development he is currently immobile and can’t walk or talk yet, but this doesn’t mean he can’t catch up with his development. Most recently Noah has been registered as visually impaired as professionals can’t tell how well he can see. Noah communicates with his facial expressions and noises( which are just the cutest!!) and he also kicks his legs super fast and even faster when I “say are you running Noah “. He loves going to school and interacting with his teachers and the other children, he enjoys sensory lights and feeling different materials. Noah also loves being taken for drives and walks. Southview School is a day special school for Physically and Neurologically Impaired (PNI) children and students. It is situated in a modern, inclusive and accessible building in Witham. They are unique in Essex Local Authority as the only special school exclusively for PNI children and students. Southview School is staffed by a highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers, support staff and therapists who work holistically and collaboratively to provide a high quality learning experience for all their children and students. By working with the school team, external agencies and of course parents and carers, they really do put their children and student’s holistic educational needs first!

So my little Noah Boah I’ll be thinking of you throughout my training and getting around the Hackney Half course because I know how much you love school!
