Well I have never set up a gofundme before, but knowing what the next few weeks may look like for my sister and brother-in-law, I figured it may be a blessing to them!
Today, 8/5/15, my sweet nephew Noah went to his routine 3 year old well check up. His pedicitrician noticed something odd about his left eye and recommended that he visit an opthamologist. Later that day, Sam and Andrew received news they never thought they would hear. Noah has retinoblastoma in his left eye, which means he has a malignant tumor behind/in his eye. The opthamologist seems to believe that Noah has had this for about 6 months and has since been gradually loosing eye sight and that he could possibly already be 98% blind in his left eye. You would never know...the boy can kick a soccer ball around all day and never miss! If this is true, Noah has already been adjusting to this new normal. We will be waiting for confirmation of all of this at his appointment on Monday.
Noah, along with all of his family (parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and of course Jonah) will all be flying to Philadelphia Sunday morning. He will have his first appointment with an internationally renowned specialist who will discuss with Sam and Andrew about the possibilities they have going forward. We are praying for complete and full healing before this visit and pray we leave there with good news.
In the meantime, this family whom I love so dearly, will be focusing all the resources and attention on their children while in Philadelphia. This GoFundMe page is to help with costs associated to their stay. Right now they have a one way ticket and have no set date of coming home until they are released. This family needs your steadfast prayers more than anything. However; if you feel led to give, I am sure it will bless them more than you can understand. I have placed a goal of $2,000 and hope anyone and everyone can help my dear sister and her husband while they take care of their precious babies!
