Since he was a child, Noah “Rocky” Rockenback has been independent and completely unafraid to be himself. As a lover of the outdoors, he spent most of his time running or biking, and convincing those around him to take part. These traits developed him into a selfless civil servant, a loyal friend, and a loving son and brother.
As a student at NDSU, he studied computer science in hopes of eventually using his skills to serve his nation in the United States Air Force. He dedicated 4 ½ years of his life to Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). While a cadet in AFROTC, he took part in color guard events for the American Legion and NDSU and Concordia football games, in addition to numerous recruiting events, community service events, and mentoring those around him.
On Wednesday, the 10th of January 2018, Noah was found deceased in his campus apartment. He is survived by his parents, John and Michelle Rockenback and his brother Nick Rockenback. While his friends and family grieve for Noah, his memory continues to encourage those who knew him to be selfless and caring friends just like Noah was when he was with us.
Due to the unexpected nature of the funeral, the Rockenback’s have been hard pressed in this difficult time. We are asking for help from his friends and their families to cover the funeral expenses.
