My name is Noah, since I was 4 I remember being drawn to music and especially singing. I started educating myself at age 9 with a Ukelele and an app, I went on talent shows at school and wrote my first original song at age 10. Then I got more interested in developing other skills for other instruments, and so I embarked in intensive 6 days a week private lessons plus 4 hours a day of practicing on acoustic guitar until I got an electric one for my Bar Mitzvah! On parallel I was going online gigs, some public performances, and developed self confidence and one day, my stage fear was gone…. UNTIL, puberty came along and my voice cracked! I felt my superpower had been taken away. Good it happens during pandemic so there was no pressure for live shows, but I was extremely frustrated. With the support of my family and my own determination I continued to study and focus on the other instruments while being patient and hoping for adolescence to pass, and bring me back to where I felt confident.
So far I studied and presented already 6 levels of the London College of Music exams 5/8 and came out with 96 average. A really high score with a diploma that says “outstanding”. At the same time I have been doing vocal coaching and guitar lessons in addition to other techniques while self teaching on production, mastering and yes, I compose and write the lyrics of my titles as well.
i am now 17 and graduated high school early. When apoyo g to schools, not to burden with more expenses, I only applied to one school for that is and has always been my dream, Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA. I got accepted to start in September but unfortunately I was late for the scholarships and more so because I was selected for the year abroad program, which is very exclusive and very few scholarships are given. I know I have the talent, however I can also admit humbly, I’m not a prodigy. All the achievements have come from consistency, practice, practice and more practice. But of course, I’ve had a multicultural upbringing, lived in 3 different countries, studied in private and private schools in the US and Peru, I speak both languages fluently and I’m extremely observing, sensitive and creative. Love to explore, hence I can play the keyboard and piano, and some Bass, as well as acoustic guitar.
My commitment to music is what thrives me to wake up every day and be a singing bird all day long without eve realizing it! and the retribution is to get to the next level.
I would really be forever grateful to those who can or want to help me so I can cover the extras my family cannot afford at this time. Every bit counts! I feel extremely privileged for the family support for I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for them, for my parents, and yes, some bullies at school who gave me the little push I needed to ground myself and stay true and authentic to my belief and passions regardless.
i was hesitant about doing this but then I remembered something my mom has always told me when I feel shy to ask but I also want to have it “the NO it’s a given, so your starting point by asking is not 0% chance, is at least 50%. and the worse that can happen is that a NO turns into a New Opportunity” and I can then redesign how to get the help i need to meet my goals, while I develop the skills to get them on my own.
i know my cause is not saving a life as in an illness, thank god, nonetheless, you’d be helping me build a life based on gratefulness and humility, in joy and in gratitude, in values and empathy, on passion and perseverance and for all these I thank you in advance if you do choose to donate any amount you feel like, share with your friends and family and help me get to live a hard worked and well deserve academic experience in the best school in the world.
Thank you and god bless you all!
