November 9, 2019, my sister was diagnosed with “Mucinous Adenocarcinoma Stage IV with Abdominal Carcinomatosis”
Yup. I know you never heard of it. Us too. All we know is that it is a rare GI(Gastrointestinal) Cancer. Stage IV.
It all started July 2019 when my sister found out that she has Gastrointestinal Tuberculosis.
She was by then and still producing fluid inside her stomach at this very moment.
The doctors also found out that aside from the fluid, she has a lymph node in her GI. However, the doctor advised her to take Gastro TB medication for 6 months because the fluid is negative from Cancer, Lupus, HIV and other critical illness.
My sister has been in and out the hospital for her regular check up and sometimes she would have to stay so that the doctors could monitor her condition.
She lost tons of weight.
Until November 4, 2019 she got hospitalized once again and after her endoscopy test, they found out that the lymph nodes already spread out in her stomach and part of her cervix.

But God continue to move in our lives. My sister is a fighter.
My sister was in the ICU on November 12, ‘19, with the ventilation and all the tubes God knows what it is for. (Her surgeon tried to remove the lymph nodes during an operation, they didn’t push through because they couldn’t get inside my sister’s stomach, they have no choice but the stitch the wounds back)
3rd day in ICU, they removed her ventilation because she is able to breathe on her own.
4th Day, everything was stable and the progress is going great.
5th day, her doctors ordered the nurses to bring her back to our regular hospital room.
Her progress is amazingly great.
However, the medicines and the hospital bill continues to arise. We spend an average of $1000 per day just for the medicine, it does not include the doctors fee, and other hospital bill.
We would also like to transfer her to one of the great and known hospital in the Philippines.
We already spoke to Dr. Jorge Ignacio, head and director of Cancer Institute in Philippine General Hospital.
We already have his consent and admitting transfer request, we are just waiting for a room to be available so we can move to Philippine General Hospital.
Help us to pay off our hospital bill here in De la Salle University Medical Center, we are looking at more than half a million(peso) and still occurring since we have to wait for an available room in Philippine General Hospital.
It may take 7-10 more days.
So I, Desiree Anne Batica who selflessly love my sister, is knocking on your door to help us to raise a fund to prepare for the next series of tests that needs to be done(Including chemotherapy), medicines and hospital bills.
