New liver?! No Way, Jose!

Donation protected

Hi! I wanted to call this fundraiser “No way, Jose!” because the family news last week really did hit us by surprise. It turns out my cousin/‘nother brother/MHS class of ‘89 needed a new liver. It was a shock to everyone but thankfully a donation became available just in time to save Jose's life. Shout out to organ donors and their families—all should be honored for their gifts!

He’s been in the hospital in Dallas for an extended period of time and will likely be there for at least a month. He and his family live in Waco, which makes this journey even harder. His daughter Zoe is a first year student at Baylor and his wife April works for Baylor. Their son Marcus also recently moved back to Waco after graduating from college. And my aunt has been driving to and from a lot and helping like the superwoman she is.

Even with all the family support, the financial burden of undergoing critical life-saving transplant surgery is overwhelming. Their entire lives have been put on hold as they navigate this journey. Any contribution you can provide, big or small, will help alleviate stress and allow them to focus on Jose's long road to recovery.

If you have the means to contribute, my entire family appreciates it. The money will definitely help with the mounting medical bills and other associated costs. Even dropping a happy line will help!
