In Ukraine, modern warfare has evolved into a "transparent battlefield," where constant surveillance and artillery fire create a psychological load that tests the limits of human endurance. The pressure doesn't end at the front line; a projected 6-8 million veterans and family members are approaching a "capacity cliff," where current support systems will simply be unable to cope with the need for care.
At the Corioli Institute, we are dedicated to (re)building sustainable futures for warfighters and communities affected by violence. We believe the answer lies in participatory engagement from the moment of trauma exposure. We work directly with Ukrainian soldiers, veterans, and clinicians to design the solution they actually need.
Your donation supports the deployment of an AI-driven psychological infrastructure: Deployment of the 5xFive® CURA app, custom-built for the Ukrainian context, which features: 1) Soldier Mode: A private "war diary" for frontline self-regulation; and 2) Clinician Mode: A "digital scribe" that automates notes and learns contextually embedded best-practices for triage and care, allowing medics and psychosocial service providers to focus on the soldier, not the paperwork.
Why Corioli?
We apply a "zero-waste" funding philosophy. By partnering with 5xFive®, we can leverage leading-edge AI to automate early detection and triage, enabling Ukrainian institutions to scale their support to millions without a proportional increase in staff, ensuring every dollar you give creates exponential impact.
Help us prevent trauma from becoming a long-term risk to the security, resilience, and readiness of Ukraine's defenders and all who have benefited from their service and sacrifice.
Who is involved?
This partnership includes 5xFive, ATLANT medical services, Zhytomyr Polytechnic, Ukraine's Armed Forces Medical Services East, and The Unviersity of Chicago Office for Military Affiliated Communities.
Where does my donation go?
Of the total funding, the largest share of funding is dedicated to supporting the logistical reality of this US-Ukraine partnership: just under 30% goes towards Ukraine's frontline psychosocial triage personnel (currently all-volunteer), veteran clinicians, and supporting effectiveness, field assessment, and evaluation specialists. Just over 25% is allocated to early phase pilots with each service provider to validate and refine the tool in active conflict and rear-echelon settings. Roughly 25% supports 5xFive's customization of CURA for each Ukrainian partner; they are providing in-kind support of $300,000 in free use of the app for up to 1,000 clinicians and care providers. Five percent will be dedicated to train-the-trainer content and delivery to ensure sustainable adoption and Ukrainian-led dissemination. Equiment represents 5% of the programme's expenses, communications and awareness raising another 5%, and the remaining 5% for consumables.
