I'm Jennifer, I suffer from chronic pain and illness, one of those illnesses is stage 3 polycythemia vera (blood cancer). I'm currently caring for my granddaughter Freya for a few months while her momma transitions into a new home for her and her siblings. Her momma needed my help and I stepped up without hesitation. With the government shut down and no snap benefits coming next month I'm incredibly worried. If it were just me I could probably manage but I know I will not have enough to keep food in the pantry for her. Why not go to a food bank? I definitely would but she has special dietary needs and myself I am unable to eat most of what they offer because it makes me even more sick and as of now, the fridge and pantry is getting bare by the day!

We need help, it's not just for food but snap enables me to buy non food items that are needed. Medical and cleaning supplies, clothes for her. Not to mention, this is going to affect Thanksgiving and Christmas losing our food budget. I absolutely did not want to resort to doing this but the longer the shut down goes the higher the uncertainty is for us.
