As some of you may already know, just after the new year we received the devastating news that Rick was diagnosed with non-small cell squamous carcinoma lung cancer. After further testing, the decision was made to undergo surgery this coming Monday, January 23rd to attempt to remove the cancerous tumor. His prognosis looks positive if the entire tumor is able to be removed & radiation is successful. Rick has many more tests & visits with doctors in the coming days. We are looking for a path to move forward, help meet financial needs & find a way back to normal. Our time is precious & we never really know how much time we have left. On behalf of Rick's family & friends, we wanted to make this fundraiser in hopes that you will help us lift some of the financial burden. Rick will not be able to forge ahead alone. His only insurance is Medicare with no supplemental plan. His medical bills are already compiling & will only continue to increase. He has been through a lot & continues to be a fighter. We hope that this fundraiser will be one small way to show this incredible friend, father & brother how deeply loved he is & eliminate the stress of his day-to-day worries while he recovers.
