NO NUCLEAR FOR AUSTRALIA CAMPAIGN

G'day!
My name is Roy, and I'm a 76 year-old long-time anti-nuclear activist.
As a sometimes Liberal voter, I am astounded that the Liberal/Dutton wannabe government is heavily promoting nuclear power for Australia. I think that this is the worst policy ever presented to the Australian people before an election; and we should do everything we can to flush away this stinking turd of a policy as fast as is possible.
My plan is to rent a large electric-powered pantech truck, cover the top with solar panels (for extra battery miles; and a practical demonstration of Sunpower) cover the sides with information (as per photos) explaining why nuclear power is wrong on every level. Then drive the truck to every electorate in the country to demonstrate that all the technology we need is already here: no nuclear power needed; and none wanted. We will set up a media team to tell as many Australians as possible why we should vote this unbelievably bad policy down.
Finally, the strongest & most compelling argument against nuclear power is the moral argument over the extremely toxic nuclear waste. It is a simple FACT that scientists have yet to invent a method to safely store high-level wastes for the 100,000 plus years needed for this incredibly toxic waste to deactivate. Will they ever find a solution?? Nobody knows: but thinking people know that to "gift" this problem to future generations is, without doubt, immoral. That we propose to leave this extremely difficult & probably unsolvable problem for future generations of humans to solve is a repugnantly immoral act without parallel. In the meantime, there are 250,000 TONS of high-level waste in "temporary" storage around our planet: waiting for a scientific genius to come up with the solution.
The media team will build a website that provides information why nuclear power is wrong for Australia: including the following: environmentally, it introduces even more radioactive waste for an already over-polluted planet; economically, it's stamped with a huge red LOSER label: economists from all political persuasions are bagging it left and right. It is also hugely costly; and we cannot know what the final bill will be. If you think your electricity bill is bad now; wait until after Dutton/Liberals run up tens of BILLIONS of dollars building nuclear power stations we will never need.
Costs for wind and solar are dropping like lead balloons, and will drop even faster in the near future. Pumped hydro is a wonderfully environmentally friendly method for producing electricity for heavy industry; and we have hardly started down that path. And what about batteries, everywhere, for everything? ALL of which are getting cheaper every day.
There are so many ways that this policy is wrong for Australia. It is easy to get carried away with details; but the aim of this anti-nuclear campaign is to simply present the most important and easily-digestible facts.
The "No nuclear for Australia " truck should garner lots of publicity for this critical issue; hopefully starting the conversation that is long overdue.
I'm hoping to get the generous support necessary to fund this campaign.
Cheers!
Roy.
